Haze: MUET Speaking test postponed to November

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Examinations Council (MPM) has postponed the Speaking component of the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) Session 3 2026 from October to November amid haze conditions.

In a Facebook post on Friday (Oct 9), the council said the Speaking component will now be from Nov 2 to 4, while the Written component remains scheduled to take place next Saturday for now.

The postponement follows the Education Ministry’s statement on Thursday calling for the safety and health of students and the education community to be prioritised amid the haze, as well as announcements by several states to close schools and educational institutions from Friday.

Candidates can check their revised test dates via their updated MUET Session 3 2026 Examination Slips (MUET/D), which will be available for reference and download from the MPM’s official website at http://www.mpm.edu.my from 10am next Thursday.

The council said the test dates remain subject to further announcements by the federal government, state governments and ministry regarding the haze situation.

Candidates with further enquiries may contact 03-6126 1668 or email muet@mpm.edu.my.

They are also advised to refer to official updates on the MPM website, its Facebook page (Malaysian Examinations Council), Instagram and TikTok accounts (@majlispeperiksaan), and the MUET Session 3 2026 Telegram channel.
