Haze: All schools under Jawi to close from today

KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) has ordered all schools under its jurisdiction to close from Friday (Oct 9) until further notice due to the haze.

In a statement on Facebook, Jawi said all affected schools must implement home-based teaching and learning (PdPR) to ensure continuity in pupils' education.

It said teachers and support staff will work from home throughout the closure, subject to current directives and operational needs.

"Parents and guardians are advised to follow Jawi's official announcements and updates, particularly those concerning the reopening dates of its Islamic educational institutions," the statement said. - Bernama
