Two friends killed, driver seriously injured in early morning Kampung Gajah crash

IPOH: Two friends were killed, and a car driver was seriously injured after a collision between a car and a motorcycle sent both vehicles into a drain along Kampung Teluk Sareh in Kampung Gajah early Thursday morning (Oct 8).

The deceased motorcyclist and pillion rider were identified as Siti Qazrina Abdul Rahman, 19, and Adam Danial Abdul Rahman, 18. Both were pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry medical personnel.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said a distress call was received at 4.29am, with firefighters arriving at the scene 16 minutes later.

"The accident involved a Toyota Yaris and a Yamaha Y15 motorcycle. Upon arrival, firefighters found the car in a drain with the 31-year-old male driver inside, though he was not pinned to his seat," Sabarodzi said in a statement.

"The motorcycle rider and pillion rider were also found in the drain," he added.

The car driver sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Seri Iskandar Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

Five personnel from the Kampung Gajah Fire and Rescue Station were deployed to the scene. The victims' bodies were handed over to the police for further action, and the operation wrapped up at 6.54am.
