Three siblings killed in Johor crash en route to closed school

PETALING JAYA: Three siblings were killed Thursday morning (Oct 8) when the motorcycle they were riding collided with a lorry along Jalan Parit Haji Sirat in Pontian, Johor, local police confirmed.

The victims were two young boys, aged 11 and 8, and an 18-year-old male. The crash occurred at approximately 7.00am while the siblings were reportedly en route to school, unaware that all schools across the state of Johor had been closed for two days due to worsening haze and air quality conditions.

Sinar Harian reported that Pontian District Police Chief Superintendent Hadzrat Hussein Mion Hussian confirmed the fatal incident, stating that an investigation into the cause of the collision between the motorcycle and the lorry is underway.
