Man's body found near bushes in Gurun with head, facial injuries

PETALING JAYA: Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of a man’s body with facial and head injuries near bushes on Jalan Harvard, Gurun, early Thursday morning (Oct 8).

The unidentified victim, believed to be a local man in his 20s, was found lying near the roadside bushes by members of the public around 8.00am. He was dressed in black and yellow sportswear.

Kuala Muda police chief ACP Hanyan Ramlan confirmed that initial examinations revealed visible injuries to the victim's face and head. No identification documents were recovered at the scene.

"The body has been sent to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB) in Alor Setar for a post-mortem examination," ACP Hanyan said on Thursday, adding that authorities are awaiting the autopsy findings to formally classify the case.

Police are appealing to members of the public in the surrounding area who have missing family members or acquaintances to contact the Gurun Police Station for identification through photograph verification. Further investigations are ongoing.
