Motorcyclist killed in crash with four-wheel drive in Kota Tinggi


KOTA TINGGI: A male motorcyclist died after being involved in an accident with a four-wheel drive vehicle at KM0.4 Jalan Kota Tinggi-Kluang on Monday (Oct 5).

Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Yusof Othman said police received a call from a member of the public regarding the incident at 8.05pm.

"The 61-year-old driver of the four-wheel drive, a local man, was coming out from the junction when the accident happened," he said in a statement.

Yusof said the 24-year-old motorcyclist, also a local, was travelling from Kota Tinggi towards Kluang when he failed to avoid the vehicle and collided with it.

"The victim suffered severe body injuries and was declared dead at the scene," he said.

Yusof said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
