Motivational speaker's remand extended two days in sexual harassment probe


KANGAR: A motivational speaker has been remanded for another two days from Monday (Oct 5) to assist investigations into a case linked to a police report lodged in the district on Oct 3.

Perlis police chief Deputy Comm Hamzah Hashim, when contacted by Bernama, confirmed that the 33-year-old man had been remanded.

On Sunday (Oct 4), the media reported that police had confirmed receiving another report on Oct 3 against the motivational speaker in connection with allegations of sexual harassment.

DCP Hamzah was quoted as saying that the report was lodged by a 19-year-old female complainant and that the case was being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act.

Earlier, the motivational speaker was remanded for two days from Saturday (Oct 3) in connection with a police report lodged in Padang Besar, before being released on police bail and rearrested by the Kangar district police for further action. - Bernama
