KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 11 areas nationwide recorded unhealthy level Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 4pm Monday (Oct 5).
According to the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal of the Environment Department (DOE), Batu Pahat and Larkin in Johor recorded the highest API readings at 159 each, followed by Pasir Gudang (157) and Cheras, Kuala Lumpur (154).
Also recording unhealthy readings were Nilai, Negri Sembilan and Kluang, Johor, at 152 each; IPD Serian, Sarawak (150); Putrajaya (147); Johan Setia, Selangor (144); Segamat, Johor (129); and Bukit Rambai, Melaka (125).
Meanwhile, 55 areas recorded moderate level API readings.
An API reading between zero and 50 is categorised as good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy), and exceeding 300 (hazardous). - Bernama
