PUTRAJAYA: Any final decision by Pakatan Harapan to cooperate with Bersatu for the Melaka election will be made through its presidential council, says Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil.

Its communications director said there have yet to be any discussions made on the political cooperation between the two so far.

“So far, there have been no developments (on the cooperation). I have yet to receive any information on the matter,” he told reporters after the launch of the Postal Medicine Delivery Programme (UMP).

It was reported that Pakatan and Bersatu leaders attended a closed-door dinner in Melaka on Monday night amid speculation over possible cooperation between the two.

Pakatan had earlier been reported to be considering a “PH Plus” arrangement without Barisan Nasional for the state polls.

Meanwhile, acting Melaka PKR chairman Adam Adli Abdul Halim said Pakatan is waiting for an invitation from PAS to discuss possible political cooperation ahead of the Melaka polls.

He said Pakatan was open to meeting any party, including PAS, as political parties explored their options before the polls.

“PAS is the only one that has not invited us yet and I am waiting too,” he said.

The Melaka legislative assembly was dissolved on Sept 23 to pave the way for the 16th state election.

The Election Commission will meet on Oct 7 to decide the key dates for the polls.
