MELAKA: Pakatan Harapan is waiting for an invitation from PAS to discuss possible political cooperation ahead of the Melaka polls after its representatives met Bersatu leaders over dinner on Monday (Sept 28).

Acting Melaka PKR chairman Adam Adli Abdul Halim (pic) said Pakatan was open to meeting any party, including PAS, as political parties explored their options before the polls.

"Tonight, we are with our friends from Bersatu. Previously, we would usually meet Barisan Nasional.

“PAS is the only one that has not invited us yet and I am waiting too,” he said after a private dinner with Bersatu representatives at a hotel in Jalan Hang Tuah here.

Adam Adli, who is also Deputy Higher Education Minister and Hang Tuah Jaya MP, said Pakatan would be willing to meet PAS if invited.

He cautioned against reading too much into Monday’s dinner, saying it was an opportunity for the two sides to get acquainted, with no political agreement discussed.

“There were no discussions as we just had dinner and got to know one another.

“In this election, everyone is talking to one another,” he said.

Pakatan had earlier been reported to be considering a “PH Plus” arrangement without Barisan for the Melaka polls.

The Melaka Legislative Assembly was dissolved on Sept 23.

The Election Commission will meet on Oct 7 to decide the key dates for the state election.
