PETALING JAYA: Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has extended his condolences over the passing of Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali.
In a social media post on Monday (Sept 28), Wong described the late Dr Siti Hasmah as a pioneer who made important contributions to healthcare, education and social causes in Malaysia.
He added that her contributions had touched the lives of generations of Malaysians.
Beyond her public service, Wong said Dr Siti Hasmah would be remembered for her warmth, grace and zest for life.
“She brought warmth and vitality to all that she did and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her,” he said.
Wong also conveyed his thoughts to former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his family during their time of grief.
Dr Siti Hasmah passed away at the age of 100 at the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur at 9.20am on Monday.
She is survived by her husband and seven children.
