DUNGUN: A former mudir (headmaster) of a tahfiz school here has been remanded for five days from Sunday (Sept 27) for investigations into the alleged sexual assault of three male students, aged 13 and 14, between April and September last year.
Dungun OCPD Supt Nik Ab Halim Nik Mat said the remand order was issued by Magistrate Ng Yan Ni to facilitate investigations under Sections 14(b) and 14(d) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
He said the 26-year-old man, who now works as a part-time teacher at a religious school in the district, was arrested at his home in Paka here at about 11pm on Saturday (Sept 26).
"We received three reports on the alleged incidents yesterday, and preliminary investigations found that all three boys involved were former students of the school last year," he said when contacted. – Bernama
