SHAH ALAM: Investigations are underway following donation box funds being stolen from a surau here.
Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Sarudin Samah said that the case that had made its rounds on social media was reported to the police on Sept 25 by a member of the surau’s committee.
"Preliminary investigations based on CCTV footage found that two unidentified men entered the premises at around 2.30am on Sept 25 through the main gate before prying open two donation boxes placed at the front entrance.
"The total amount of losses has yet to be determined as the money comprised donations from members of the public who visited the surau,” he said in a statement today.
He added that investigations are underway to trace down the suspects.
