PUTRAJAYA: High-quality research must serve as the backbone for policy reforms and anti-corruption strategies in Malaysia, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman said.
Addressing the 5th National Governance, Integrity and Anti-Corruption Research Conference on Friday (Sept 25), Abd Halim noted that 50 research topics were funded via GIACC grants between 2020 and 2025 to uncover governance weak spots across public and private sectors.
Beyond academic discussion, MACC has developed the 2022–2025 Conference Proceedings Compilation Report to synthesize these study findings into accessible reference materials for lawmakers and agency heads.
Abd Halim emphasized that anti-corruption initiatives must be rooted in clear evidence rather than assumptions.
"I hope these research findings will continue to be utilized as reference materials in policy formulation, system enhancements, and the development of evidence-based anti-corruption strategies," he said.
