IPOH: A father and son have been remanded for seven and two days respectively, starting today, to assist in the investigation of a murder case involving a woman with disabilities (PwD) in Kampung Cheh Kati, Kuala Kangsar, on Wednesday (Sept 23).
The remand orders for the two males, aged 15 and 44, were issued by Magistrate Azlin Zeti Zainal Abidin at the Kuala Kangsar Magistrate's Court here, following an application by the police to investigate the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
On Wednesday, the media reported that a 49-year-old woman was found dead, lying in a pool of blood in the living room of her home in the village.
Kuala Kangsar district police chief ACP Heisham Harun said the police received a report regarding the incident at 2:38 pm after family members discovered the victim lying face down and unconscious.
According to him, preliminary investigations suggest the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding between the victim and the suspects while police also recovered a knife believed to have been used in the incident. - Bernama
