KUALA LUMPUR: A motorcyclist was killed in an accident along a tunnel at the Sultan Iskandar Highway on Monday (Sept 21).
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Asst Comm Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said that the accident involved the motorcycle and two other vehicles.
"Initial investigations found that the motorcycle rider, a 22-year-old man, was travelling in the right lane before he is believed to have lost control and collided with the rear right section of the first car which was travelling in the same lane and driven by a 28-year-old man," he said.
"Following the initial collision, the rider fell into the left lane before being struck by a second vehicle driven by a 40-year-old man, who was unable to avoid the victim," he added.
The motorcycle rider sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical officer from the Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
Mohd Zamzuri said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
