ACTORS Esma Daniel and Datuk Adi Putra have called for the screening of Konspirasi to resume, saying the film about fighting corruption carries a positive message.
In a Berita Harian report, they called on movie-goers to support local films that tackle real-world issues, saying corruption should be understood from all angles.
Esma said it is unfair for a film that carries an important message on the dangers of corruption, to have its screening halted.
Directed by Ghaz Abu Bakar, the film was released in cinemas on May 21 but was withdrawn a week later.
Production company Elepfilm Entertainment reportedly said the decision was made internally, without influence from external parties, citing various considerations based on the situation.

Opened in more than 120 cinemas across the two nations on June 11, the movie has raked in over RM5mil in Malaysia by early July.
Produced by Red Communications and Komet Productions, it began screening in Indonesia on Wednesday, while its Hong Kong release is scheduled for Oct 8.
Khadam, directed by Shamyl Othman, is set in the 1950s and follows Melor, a mother who inherits a supernatural entity, after her mother’s death.
The film stars Indonesian actress Aghniny Haque, Datuk Remy Ishak, Siti Khadijah Halim, Zarra Zhaff, Karl’ El and Jun Lojong.

Kosmo! Online reported that the 41-year-old, who was alerted about the incident by a follower, described the image as offensive and humiliating, urging the public to report the account to prevent others from becoming victims.
Other celebrities, including Neelofa, Mira Filzah and Siti Khadijah, have previously been targeted by face manipulation, filters or deepfake technology.
