PETALING JAYA: Perikatan Nasional will hold a supreme council meeting next weekend to discuss preparations for the upcoming Melaka state election, Sinar Harian reported.
PN information chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa said the meeting would discuss several matters, including preparations for the state election and changes to PN’s state-level leadership.
Although he did not specify the date, Annuar said all supreme council members had been invited to the meeting by the coalition's secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan.
“Perikatan remains focused on strengthening its management and administration in accordance with its constitution and regulations,” he said in a Facebook post on Saturday (Sep 12).
Meanwhile, a source within Bersatu said the party had received an invitation to attend the Perikatan supreme council meeting.
The meeting is scheduled to be held at the PAS headquarters in Jalan Raja Laut, Kuala Lumpur.
However, the source said Bersatu leaders had yet to decide whether to attend the meeting.
“Bersatu is still considering the invitation,” the source said.
