KUALA LUMPUR: Umno will cooperate with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) if there is strong evidence to warrant prosecution against its leaders, says party president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
He said, however, that the investigations must be fair and transparent.
"I have not received any official information on this yet," he told reporters on the sidelines of the Umno annual general assembly here on Thursday (Sept 10).
"If there is strong evidence to press charges, we have no reservations about cooperating with the MACC.
"Before any charges are pressed, however, investigations must take place in a transparent and fair manner."
This comes following reports that several Umno leaders may be arrested after the general assembly.
