Farmer shot dead outside his child's house in Kuala Langat


SHAH ALAM: A man was gunned down outside a home belonging to his child in Kuala Langat.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar said the incident  in the Banting area on Tuesday (Sept 8) resulted in the death of a 52-year-old farmer.

"The victim was there to inspect the condition of the house. No motive has been established for the fatal shooting yet," he said on Thursday (Sept 10).

"He was hit in the torso and more than one shot was fired at him.

"A man aged between 20 and 30 was arrested late last night (Wednesday, Sept 9) in the same area.

"As of now, we have yet to ascertain if the suspect is the main culprit... investigations are ongoing," he said.

Comm Shazeli added that a post-mortem report was pending and that police are still searching for the weapon.

"The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder," he said.
