AYER KEROH: PKR will launch early election machinery drives in Perikatan Nasional-ruled Kedah and Perlis within two weeks, says party election director Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari (pic).
Speaking during his winding-up speech at the 2026 PKR National Congress on Sunday (Aug 16), the PKR vice-president urged delegates to begin immediate ground preparations for the upcoming polls.
“The election committee will complete the formation of its team in two weeks. Yesterday, PAS’ general started in Kedah. Don’t worry, in two weeks, we will start,” Amirudin said, adding that the party would fight aggressively in the elections.
The Selangor Mentri Besar was responding to Kedah Mentri Besar and Perikatan election director Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, who claimed on Saturday (Aug 15) that PAS aimed to use Selangor as the launching pad to defeat Pakatan Harapan in the state and in the 16th General Election.
Sanusi had described Selangor as a critical target due to its position as the nation's key economic powerhouse.
Addressing the challenge, Amirudin stated that PKR is entering its final phase of political consolidation and knows its targets clearly.
“We are clear on who we are fighting and which wall we want to tear down,” he said.
