AYER KEROH: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has reminded leaders, especially ministers from his party, to listen to the people and be prepared to make changes.
Speaking during his policy speech at the PKR National Congress, the Prime Minister acknowledged that despite the government's successes in the economic and diplomatic spheres, they were unable to effectively connect with the masses.
“How do we do that (connect with the masses)? You are ministers, this does not necessarily mean you are the best. You are deputy ministers having…all these important positions. It is a challenge,” he added.
He urged leaders to listen to and make the necessary changes as PKR is a party of reforms.
“Listen. Make the necessary adjustments. My strong advice to my colleagues on the stage. Listen and be prepared to change. Not listen in order to respond and lecture,” he said, referring to PKR’s central leadership council
The PKR National Congress, which began on Thursday (Aug 13), will end on Sunday (Aug 16).
