Car 90% destroyed in fire near Rawang R&R


RAWANG: A car was almost completely destroyed in a fire along the slip road to Rawang, opposite the R&R Rawang, on Friday (Aug 7).

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received an emergency call at 1.55pm before a team from the Bukit Sentosa Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the scene.

"The fire engine arrived at the location at 2.05pm, about 18km from the station.

"The fire involved a car that was about 90% burnt. Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze and no casualties were reported," he said in a statement on Friday (Aug 7).

A total of seven firefighters and one fire engine were involved in the operation.
