Kota Tinggi cops issue 22 summonses for heavy vehicle offences


KOTA TINGGI: A total of 22 summonses were issued to heavy vehicle drivers by police here.

Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Yusof Othman said the traffic operation Ops Perdagangan on Thursday (Aug 6) took place at KM25 Jalan Kulai-Kota Tinggi.

“We are focusing our enforcement on heavy vehicles to ensure driver fitness and vehicle roadworthiness," he said in a statement.

Supt Yusof added 42 individuals and 38 commercial and heavy vehicles were inspected during the operation.

He said it is an approach aimed at educating the public – particularly heavy vehicle drivers to be more responsible regarding their own safety and that of other road users.
