Man found dead at Tanjung Rambutan care home, five detained for murder probe


 IPOH: A 54-year-old man was found dead with multiple injuries at a care home in Tanjung Rambutan on Tuesday (Aug 4).

Perak police chief Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin said police received information regarding the death from the Tanjung Rambutan Health Clinic at about 2pm on Tuesday.

He said a team was sent to the scene.

“The case has been classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

“An autopsy will be conducted today to determine the actual cause of death,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (Aug 5)

Comm Mohd Alwi said five individuals comprising a caretaker and four residents of the care home had been detained to assist in the investigation.

He also urged the public not to speculate or spread unverified information about the case as it could interfere with investigations.
