IPOH: A 10-tonne container lorry veered off at KM213 northbound of the North-South Expressway and plunged into a river near Kampung Jebong Lama in Taiping, Perak.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the incident is believed to have occurred at about 7.19am on Sunday (Aug 2).
"Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found the lorry in the river.
"A man in his 30s had already been rescued by the public and was found with facial injuries," he said in a statement.
Sabarodzi said the operation commander conducted an assessment of the scene and instructed personnel to inspect the surrounding area to ensure no other victims were involved.
He added that the injured victim was brought up to the roadside and given initial treatment by Health Ministry medical personnel before being taken to a hospital by an ambulance.
