SEREMBAN: The Pakatan Harapan government is committed to strengthening Negri Sembilan's healthcare system through the implementation of 24 development and upgrading projects aimed at improving public access to quality healthcare services.
Amanah vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said the government has approved RM328mil for the projects, while an additional RM26.6mil has been allocated under the Bitara Madani initiative to refurbish 88 dilapidated clinics and healthcare facilities across the state.
"The benefits of our nation's economic progress are not being kept for a select few. They are being channelled back to the people, particularly through the upgrading of healthcare facilities in Negri Sembilan.
"This is clear evidence of a transparent administration that genuinely prioritises the people's welfare, rather than one that only makes promises during election campaigns. Let us ensure this momentum continues," he said in a Facebook post today.
Dzulkefly, who is also the Health Minister, said the successful implementation of these healthcare and welfare initiatives was made possible through prudent economic and financial management under the leadership of Negri Sembilan caretaker Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
He said the value of investments in Negri Sembilan has increased 6.6-fold to RM19bil under the Pakatan administration, reflecting the state's strong economic performance.
The prudent financial management under the leadership of the Menteri Besar, he said, had enabled the state government to record a revenue surplus of RM203mil, which is 1,450 times higher than that of the previous administration.
"Efficient financial governance under the Mentri Besar's leadership has strengthened the state's fiscal position and contributed to a significant increase in revenue,
Dzulkefly said the momentum must be maintained to ensure the continued implementation of the state's development agenda and the well-being of the people of Negri Sembilan.
A total of 859,760 registered voters, including 7,391 postal voters, are eligible to cast their ballots in the 16th Negri Sembilan state election to elect representatives for the 36 state constituencies.
Pakatan is contesting all 36 seats, followed by Barisan Nasional (25), Bersatu (24), Perikatan Nasional (11), and four independent candidates.
Parti Berjasa Malaysia, Parti Orang Asli Malaysia (ASLI), and Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) are each contesting one seat. - Bernama
