Negri polls: Abdul Hadi instructs PAS members to vote for BN

SEREMBAN: PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang has instructed all party members and supporters to vote for Barisan Nasional (BN) candidates in areas not contested by the Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the Negeri Sembilan State Election (PRN) on Aug 1.

He said the directive was part of the BN-PN cooperation strategy to ensure the coalition's victory, reported Sinar Harian.

"I repeat my call. PAS people in Barisan areas must vote for Barisan and work for them. Likewise, Barisan people must work in the areas PAS is contesting so that we can win," he said when speaking at the Seremban Mega Birukan Talk here on Wednesday night (July 30).

According to Abdul Hadi, the same strategy was implemented in Johor when Perikatan supporters voted for Barisan candidates until the coalition achieved a landslide victory.

He said that at that time, PAS acted as the "defensive line", while Barisan was in the forefront, but the collaboration succeeded in achieving the desired goal.

He said that if the collaboration results in victory in Negri Sembilan, the same model will continue to be strengthened in the future.

In his speech, Abdul Hadi also claimed that BN-PN cooperation was important to curb DAP's influence, as well as urging young voters to support the coalition for the sake of the country's future.
