KUALA LUMPUR: The police will not hesitate to take strict action on the RXZ Members 8.0 gathering if breaches of the law are found, says Bukit Aman.
Bukit Aman's Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department director Comm Datuk Seri Muhammed Hasbullah Ali, at a press conference Wednesday (July 29), said that the police were taking a different approach this time but would revert to strict action if needed.
“We use the advocative method. We teach those participants to not show off by thinking they are ‘supermen’ on the road.
“At the same time in our advocative method, we are clear that where any members are found doing dangerous stunts or breaking the law, we will record them in the act. Our recording teams are already ready and we will study the recordings before taking action.
“Do not be surprised if the police appear outside your door later to arrest you,” he said.
He also said that if breaches were found this year, future iterations of the event will see stricter enforcement.
More than 100,000 people are expected to attend the RXZ Members 8.0 gathering, which is scheduled to begin this Friday (July 31) at the Gong Badak Motorsports Circuit in Kuala Nerus, Terengganu.
