KUCHING: The body of a teenage boy who went missing while fishing at Sungai Seterap in Pantu, Sri Aman, was found early Thursday (July 23) morning.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department said members of the public discovered the body at about 12.30am and brought it to Pantu jetty before handing it to the police.
The victim, identified as 15-year-old Taufik Ezany Abdullah, was found floating about 30m from the location where he was reported missing on Tuesday (July 21).
He had gone missing after diving into the river to free an entangled fishing net and did not resurface.
His uncle and cousin suspected that he had been attacked by a crocodile as one was spotted near the location.
However, the department said his body was discovered intact and showed no bite marks.
The search operation was called off at 1.30am.
