IPOH: Police have launched a manhunt for two suspects who robbed an elderly woman in Kampung Selat Pagar at Lenggong, about 90km from here.
Gerik OCPD Superintendent Abdul Samad Othman said the suspects are believed to have broken into the 80-year-old's house on Tuesday (July 21) at about 5.10am.
"After entering the house, one of the suspects pushed and kicked the victim while threatening her with an iron rod.
"They took some of the victim's belongings before fleeing in a grey-coloured car," he said in a statement.
Supt Abdul Samad said the matter would be investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code.
He said efforts to track down the suspects are ongoing.
"We called on those with information about the incident to come forward to the nearest police station," he said, adding that the woman lives alone.
