CYBERJAYA: Results from the Refugee Registration Document project will be obtained by the end of the year, says Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail (pic).
The Home Minister said this project was being conducted to obtain more comprehensive data on refugees in the country.
"We will have a more credible and comprehensive set of granular data containing all the information on the refugees we have successfully registered," he said in his speech during the 104th Immigration Day celebration here on Tuesday (July 21).

He added that the Immigration Department had made more than 130,000 arrests from last year to June this year.
"More than 92,000 foreign nationals have been repatriated for various immigration offences.
"I believe the department will continue to carry out enforcement without compromise, and the government and the ministry will, of course, continue to provide support, including through the procurement of strategic enforcement assets to assist," he said.
Saifuddin Nasution also hoped that the proposal to increase the salaries of Immigration officers and personnel will be considered by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar and Public Service Department director-general Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz.

"I believe it is appropriate as a means to recognise the sacrifices of those in the department," he said.
In his speech later, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi agreed with Saifuddin Nasution.
"It is a good proposal and should be duly considered.
"At the end of the month, as part of the Immigration Day celebration, I hope the minister will announce a pay increase for the officers. God willing.
"We give thanks in advance first today," he added in jest.
