SEREMBAN: Barisan Nasional pledges to bring 50,000 new jobs to Negri Sembilan if given the mandate in the Aug 1 state polls, says Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
The Barisan chairman said its manifesto, to be unveiled this week, would also have more pledges for the benefit of the people compared to those announced by its rivals.
"I still consider ourselves the underdog but wherever I go, voters tell me they miss Barisan very much.
"So, since we are sorely missed, we will do our best and Insya'Allah, you will have a new government in Negri Sembilan on Aug 1," he told reporters after presenting excellent service awards to Kemas employees in Kg Pantai near here on Tuesday (July 21).

Asked if the pledge to create 50,000 new jobs was realistic, Ahmad Zahid said it was possible as the state had a lot of potential to attract new investors.
"Apart from other investors, I have personally worked on opening a 2,000-acre (809.37ha) Halal Industry Park here which will be developed into a hub and the bulk of products exported.
"I have also held discussions with the foreign investors to, among others, produce vaccines, medical and related products," he said.
When unveiling Pakatan's manifesto on Monday (July 20) night, its state chairman Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the coalition will help create 30,000 high-paying jobs by attracting investors in the high-tech industry.
Aminuddin, who will be contesting in Linggi, also outlined 10 main commitments, which include ensuring the successful completion of five high-impact projects in collaboration with the Federal Government.

On an allegation by a Pakatan candidate in the state polls that Barisan used government assets while campaigning, Ahmad Zahid said he too had proof that the party's rivals were doing the same.
"I do not want to say anything but I have records too.
"We also have proof of such wrongdoings in other states," he said.
The Pakatan candidate claimed his team received information that public facilities were allegedly being used to store party flags and hold political gatherings, among other things.
