Kota Tinggi murder: Bound body of unidentified woman found floating in river


KOTA TINGGI: The body of an unidentified woman, believed to be a murder victim, has been found in a river here.

Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Yusof Othman said police were alerted to the discovery of the body floating in Sungai Tanjung Serindit, Ulu Papan, Pengerang, at around 9pm on Sunday (July 19).

"The body was found with her hands and feet bound with rope. Early investigations found that the victim had died at the scene. However, the identity of the deceased has yet to be established, and the cause of death remains under investigation," he said in a statement on Monday (July 20).

He said the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

"The body has been sent to Hospital Pasir Gudang for a post-mortem examination," added Supt Yusof.
