Onn Hafiz has Barisan's full support, says Zahid


JOHOR BARU: Barisan Nasional will give its full support to Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi to continue leading the Johor state government, says coalition chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

The Deputy Prime Minister also congratulated Onn Hafiz over the bigger victory of 48 seats that Barisan recorded in the state polls.

"Thank you and congratulations to all the 48 state assemblymen who won.

"With this victory, may Johor continues to develop, its politics to remain stable and we will help Onn Hafiz to administer Johor," said Ahmad Zahid when met by reporters briefly at the Johor Umno liaison office on Saturday (July 11) night.

Ahmad Zahid also thanked the federal and state Barisan and Umno leadership, Friends of Barisan Nasional, MCA and MIC for the victory.

Barisan won 48 seats, Pakatan Harapan won eight, while other parties did not win any seats in the Johor elections.

In the 2022 state elections, Barisan won 40 seats.
