JOHOR BAHRU: Barisan Nasional’s landslide win in Johor is a mandate to keep working for the people and certainly no cause for arrogance, says incoming Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.

Onn Hafiz also pledged to serve Johoreans better following the landslide victory of the coalition in Johor.

"Tonight, Barisan has created a history that makes us all proud," he told reporters at the Johor Umno liaison office on Saturday (July 11).

"But, this is never a reason to be arrogant or to beat our chests, because this victory is a victory for us to continue serving the community and keep fighting for bangsa Johor."

Onn Hafiz also expressed gratitude to Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also Barisan chairman, as well as leaders of MCA, MIC, PPP and Friends of Barisan Nasional.

"This victory is truly a victory we share," he said. "As advised by the Deputy Prime Minister, we will continue working even harder and we do all this for bangsa Johor."

Barisan won 48 seats, Pakatan Harapan won eight, while other parties did not win any seats in the Johor elections. In the 2022 state elections, Barisan won 40 seats.
