Johor polls: Anwar to launch final campaign blitz across five locations on Friday


JOHOR BARU: Pakatan Harapan Chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will launch a final, high-energy campaign blitz across five strategic locations on Friday (July 10) to secure victory for the coalition's candidates in the 16th Johor State Election.

Through this intense tour, Anwar will traverse several State Legislative Assembly constituencies, starting with the 'Sentuhan Sahabat Madani' programme in Bukit Gambir, Tangkak at 3:50pm before heading to Bukit Batu, Kulai at around 6:00pm.

Entering the final phase on Friday evening, the Prime Minister is scheduled to attend the Layang-Layang 'Grand Finale' programme in Simpang Renggam at 8:15pm followed by the Johor Bahru Music Festival on the grounds of Perling Mall at 9:30pm.

The final day of campaigning will conclude with the "Johor Ke Depan, Undi Harapan PRN Johor" (Johor Forward, Vote Harapan for Johor State Election) Grand Finale Programme in Pasir Gudang at 10:30pm.

"Insya-Allah, tomorrow (Friday) is the final day of campaigning in Johor to ensure victory for the Harapan candidates.

"Once again, I invite all residents of Johor to join this wave of change, thereby realising a new hope for the people and the future of the state," he said in a Facebook post on Thursday (July 9).

The campaigning period for the Johor state election, which began on nomination day on June 27, will officially end at 11:59pm on Friday.

This Saturday (July 11), a total of 2.7 million voters are expected to fulfil their responsibilities to elect 56 representatives. — Bernama
