Twelve local men nabbed for shopping mall parking lot brawl in Cheras

KUALA LUMPUR: Twelve local men were arrested on June 29 following their involvement in a brawl that happened on the same day at the parking area of a shopping mall in Cheras.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Fadil Marsus said the suspects, aged between 20 and 40, were detained during three separate raids around Kuala Lumpur.

"Initial investigations revealed that the fight was triggered by a dispute after one of the workers at mall reprimanded a group for obstructing the road.

“The warning led to a verbal altercation before it escalated into a fight,” he said in a statement on Thursday (July 2).

An investigation was started following a report lodged by one of the individuals involved, who sustained minor injuries to parts of his body, he said.

All suspects have been remanded.
