SEREMBAN: Negri Sembilan PKR has forwarded its list of candidates for the 16 seats the party is contesting in state polls to its top leadership for consideration.
State PKR chief Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said three to five names were proposed for each seat and the final decision will be left to party leaders.
"There were also names sent directly to PKR president (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) and the party election committee.
"We are open and will accept whatever decision the party makes," he told reporters after handing over annual activity grants to representatives from Orang Asli villages in the state on Wednesday (July 1).
The caretaker Mentri Besar also said its Pakatan Harapan allies DAP and Amanah have almost finalised their list of candidates.
He said the state Pakatan would announce the candidates in due course.
DAP will contest 11 seats and Amanah will contest nine.
In the last state election in August 2023, Pakatan won 17 of 19 seats contested.
They then formed an electoral pact with Barisan Nasional under the unity government banner.
Barisan contested 17 seats and won 14.
Earlier, Aminuddin handed over aid totalling RM415,000 to representatives from Orang Asli villages in the state.
He said the state government would also upgrade roads in their villages and provide solar-powered streetlights to selected villages this year.
