Real estate agent nabbed for allegedly assaulting ex-girlfriend at bus stop


PETALING JAYA: A man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting and threatening his former girlfriend at the MRT Maluri bus waiting area in Cheras.

The suspect, a real estate agent in his mid-20s, was detained to assist investigations into voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Rosdi Daud confirmed that police received a report on the incident, which occurred on June 21.

"Following the report, a team from the D7 division of the Cheras district police headquarters Criminal Investigation Department arrested the suspect at 6.54pm on June 22 at the Cheras district police headquarters compound.

"The suspect was remanded for one day before being released on police bail after investigations were completed," he said in a statement on Monday (June 29).

The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.
