'Shared Prosperity' chosen as this year's National Day, Malaysia Day theme

PETALING JAYA: The National Day celebration will be held at Dataran Putrajaya this year with the theme "Malaysia Madani: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati" (Malaysia Madani: Shared Prosperity).

Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said the Malaysia Madani logo used for last year's Merdeka celebrations will be maintained.

The government spokesman and Communications Minister said the Cabinet decided this at its meeting on Friday (June 26).

"The government has selected the theme 'Shared Prosperity' for the 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations," he told the media at his weekly post-Cabinet briefing.

"The Malaysia Madani logo will remain the official logo for this year's celebrations.

"The chosen logo and theme will become the official identity of the 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations.

"The main objective of this theme is to ensure that prosperity is enjoyed comprehensively by every individual.

"It reflects the government's vision of building a progressive, inclusive and harmonious nation, where prosperity is not enjoyed only by certain groups but by all Malaysians," he said.

He also said that this year's celebration would be held on a more moderate scale as compared to previous years but it will be "no less festive" and "we will have fun".

Fahmi also urged the media to help promote the theme so that its spirit can be instilled throughout every level of society and culminate during the National Day celebration on Aug 31 and Malaysia Day on Sept 16.

"I also encourage the media to produce more content centred on national values and patriotism for all Malaysians.

"This effort is important to strengthen love for the country and reinforce our national identity, especially as the National Month celebrations approach.

"For everyone's information, programmes and activities throughout National Month (August through Sept 16) will continue to be celebrated enthusiastically, although they will be conducted in a moderate and prudent manner.

"Information about the National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations can be obtained through the official Merdeka360 portal.

"Let us all embrace the theme 'Shared Prosperity' by strengthening the spirit of unity," he said.
