Johor Regent grants audience to Anwar, backs closer Federal–state cooperation

PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been granted an audience by the Johor regent, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim in Kuala Lumpur.

"I had an audience with the Johor Regent in Kuala Lumpur today in a warm and harmonious atmosphere. The audience has provided us with a good opportunity to exchange views and discuss matters related to the welfare and well-being of the rakyat, particularly those in Johor.

"We also discussed current development and the continuous planning of the Madani government in spearheading economic growth and state development.

"Both of us are also in agreement to continue maintaining good ties on top of strengthening close cooperation between the federal and Johor state government," said Anwar in a statement on Monday (June 22).

The Johor Regent confirmed granting the Prime Minister an audience in a Facebook post, saying that it was held at Istana Bukit Tunku on Monday.
