Cops probing viral video of SUV passenger kicking injured motorcyclist

PETALING JAYA: An investigation has been opened after the passenger of an SUV kicked an injured motorcyclist following a three-vehicle collision in Kuala Selangor.

Kuala Selangor OCPD Supt Azaharudin Tajudin said a report was lodged on Sunday (June 21) following the accident along KM 44.5 of Jalan Klang-Teluk Intan.

During the incident, the SUV had suddenly changed lanes, leading to a collision with a motorcycle and another car.

“As a result of the collision, both the motorcyclist and pillion rider were thrown off the motorcycle.

“Dashcam footage from another vehicle, which later went viral on social media, captured both the moment of the accident and the actions of the SUV passenger, who kicked the motorcyclist while the victim was lying on the ground,” he said in a statement on Monday (June 22).

The case is being investigated under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
