ALOR SETAR: Claims of factionalism within the party's ulama wing are untrue, says PAS ulama council chief Datuk Ahmad Yahaya, adding that party members remain united and fully supportive of leadership decisions.
"We want to state tonight that PAS ulama are united, PAS ulama are of one heart and PAS ulama uphold and accept whatever decisions are made at the PAS central level," he said in his speech during the launch of Kedah PAS election machinery at Kedah PAS complex on Friday (June 12).
The Kedah PAS commissioner and Pokok Sena MP said this in light of the recent decision by the PAS central committee to terminate political cooperation with Bersatu,
Ahmad said all levels of the ulama wing, both at national and state level, would continue to support and implement decisions made by the party leadership.
He also expressed appreciation to the party's election machinery, particularly members of the ulama wing, for their commitment and service.
He reserved special praise for the women's wing, describing them as one of the party's most important grassroots assets.
He said workers in the women wing consistently reached out to voters through house-to-house visits.
"They work tirelessly. They continue working after elections," he said, adding women members are able to reach communities beyond ceramah or outreach programmes.
"This is the extraordinary strength of our women machinery and we appreciate and celebrate their contributions tonight," he said.
