Man in his 50s found drowned near Serendah health clinic


PETALING JAYA: A man was found drowned while fishing at a lake behind the Serendah health clinic on Sunday (June 7).

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations, Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, said firefighters received a distress call regarding the incident at 12.06pm.

He said a team from the Kuala Kubu Baharu Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the scene, located about 28km from the station.

"Upon arrival, the operation commander was informed that a man, believed to be in his 50s, had reportedly drowned while fishing at the lake.

"The victim was brought out of the water by firefighters with the assistance of the Batang Kali Volunteer Fire Brigade before he was pronounced dead by Health Ministry personnel," he said in a statement on Sunday (June 7).

Ahmad Mukhlis said the victim's body was later handed over to the police for further action.

The operation, involving four firefighters and a Fire Rescue Tender, was fully concluded at 2.16pm.
