PKR appoints Saifuddin Nasution, Zaliha as veeps, postpones annual congress

KLANG: PKR has appointed Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa as party vice-presidents, says Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

The PKR information chief Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said, in a statement Saturday (June 6), that the move was aimed at strengthening the party’s central leadership.

"This is intended to further strengthen and consolidate the organisation as well as the party’s work at the national level," said Fahmi.

The decision was made at PKR's political bureau and central leadership council monthly meeting held at Batu Pahat, Johor.

The rescheduling of the party’s 2026 Annual Congress was also announced at the meeting.

Fahmi said the congress, originally slated for June 26–28, has been postponed to August 14–16.

The rescheduling was done to give Johor and Negri Sembilan PKR additional time to prepare for the upcoming state elections.

Fahmi added the congress will be held as planned at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) in Ayer Keroh, Melaka.
