Police hunt for three men involved in Chemor armed robbery


IPOH: The police are tracking down three men believed to be involved in an armed robbery incident in Taman Klebang Ria in Chemor near here.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Muhammad Najib Hamzah said police have already identified the suspects and are working to arrest all three.

ACP Muhammad Najib said the incident, which occurred on May 31, would be investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code.

"In the incident, three men armed with machetes had robbed a sundry shop.

"The suspects fled with some money and belongings of the 20-year-old victim, who was unharmed," he said in a statement on Thursday (June 4).

"The incident has also gone viral on social media," he said, adding that those with information about the incident are to contact the district police at 05-245 1500 or come forward to the nearest police station to assist with the investigation.
