Two factories destroyed in morning fire in Sungai Buloh


PETALING JAYA: Two factories were destroyed in a fire along Jalan Kampung Baru Sungai Buloh on Saturday (May 30).

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said firefighters from the Sungai Buloh Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene.

The team was deployed after receiving an emergency call at 7.32am.

"The operation commander reported that the fire involved two Class A factory premises," Ahmad Mukhlis said in a statement on Saturday.

"The first, a hardware factory, was 90% destroyed," he added.

The second premises affected was a furniture factory, which was 60% destroyed.

No casualties have been reported at either of the premises so far.

Ahmad Mukhlis said personnel and assets from four other stations were also deployed to assist in containing the blaze.

The supporting teams came from the Bukit Jelutong, Subang Jaya, Damansara and Selayang Fire and Rescue Stations.

A total of 26 firefighters, four fire engines, two water tankers and two Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) units were mobilised to the scene.
