PUTRAJAYA: Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail (pic) has commended the Saudi Arabian government’s continued commitment to ensure the smooth management of this year’s haj season involving about 1.7 million pilgrims from 165 countries.
The appreciation was conveyed following a meeting chaired by Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud with leaders and delegations from countries participating in this year’s pilgrimage.
According to Saifuddin, the Crown Prince shared various preparations undertaken by the Saudi government for the haj season, covering logistics, infrastructure, security, health, and pilgrims’ welfare, Bernama reported.
“Managing the haj pilgrimage on such a scale certainly requires meticulous planning. I truly appreciate the Saudi government’s commitment in ensuring that dhuyufurrahman (guests of Allah) are able to perform their pilgrimage safely, in an orderly manner, and with peace of mind,” he said in a Facebook post yesterday.
Saifuddin, who is also among this year’s pilgrims, said he witnessed firsthand the efficiency of the Saudi authorities in providing facilities and services to ease the pilgrimage journey of millions of Muslims from around the world.
He also prayed that these efforts would continue to be blessed and contribute to the smooth management of the haj, while strengthening the Holy Land as a destination that unites Muslims in the spirit of peace and brotherhood.
Saudi Arabia has approved a haj quota of 31,600 for Malaysian pilgrims for 1447H/2026M.
