Woman, 30, killed in motorcycle crash on Pangkor road


IPOH: A 30-year-old woman was killed after the motorcycle she was riding skidded and crashed along Jalan Pasir Bogak in Pangkor on Wednesday (May 6).

Manjung OCPD Asst Comm Hasbullah Abd Rahman said the accident occurred at KM1.5 of the road at about 11.05am.

“Initial investigations found that the victim, who was riding the motorcycle from Pangkor town towards Pasir Bogak, is believed to have lost control of the vehicle before skidding and falling onto the left shoulder of the road.

“She suffered serious injuries and was rushed by ambulance to the Pangkor Health Clinic for treatment.

“However, the woman was pronounced dead at 12.11pm on the same day,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

He urged those with information on the incident to contact the investigating officer, Insp Mohd Shahizan Shaari, at 05-6899072.
